Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, uses a device to create microscopic punctures in the skin, triggering a healing response and collagen production. As we age, our rate of collagen production decreases and our skin loses structural integrity, creating wrinkles, folds, and loss of elasticity. Microneedling stimulates collagen production, restoring the collagen fibers within the skin.
Microneedling is beneficial to several skin concerns including:
Acne Scarring
Hyperpigmentation & Melasma
Loss of Volume
Preventative Anti-Aging
Scar Removal
Skin Texture
Microneedling the scalp or beard with Hair Growth Factors can stimulate hair follicle growth, addressing hair loss – also known as Hair Rejuvenation.
Microneedling
In Colorado, trained and certified estheticians can perform Microneedling without medical supervision, up to .5 mm in depth. Deeper does not necessarily mean better – different depths address different skin concerns. Microneedling at a superficial depth provides excellent results for those concerned with preventative anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, and melasma. Microneedling as a superficial depth is not painful – the feeling is similar to a microdermabrasion treatment.
Medical Microneedling
Microneedling at depths greater than .5 mm requires additional training and medical supervision in Colorado. Microneedling at a greater depth targets skin texture and scarring by breaking down scar tissue and increasing collagen production. Medical Microneedling includes use of a topical numbing cream. Medical Microneedling is great for acne scars and can address surgical scars, stretch marks, and scars across the body.
Who can get Microneedling?
A Microneedling consultation is required in advance to ensure a safe treatment. Consult with your skincare professional prior to your treatment – your skin will need to be prepped and healthy and you will need to follow up with daily aftercare.

Aftercare
Microneedling involves 24-48 hours of downtime. For the first 24 hrs, you will want to avoid topical skincare. You will want to completely avoid heat and sun exposure for at least 48-72 hours afterwards. It’s common to experience redness and sensitivity. Some individuals may experience dry skin, itchiness, and peeling during the first 48 hrs. Since Microneedling triggers an internal healing response within the body, it will take 4-6 weeks to see the full results of your Microneedling treatment. During that time, you should be supporting your skin with adequate hydration, sun protection, antioxidants, and medical/professional grade products.

Microneedling using AnteAge Growth Factors and Cytokines uses stem cell technology to facilitate communication between growth factors and your stem cells. Cytokines are “messengers” that instruct your stem cells to rebuild collagen fibers.
